Origin of the company name
The company name OKL Corporation comes from the English slang word "Ok, lah" from Malaysia and Singapore where we used to live. "Ok, lah" is mainly used to convey "OK", but since it is followed by the word "lah", it has a more optimistic, positive and bright image than just "OK". Sometimes people use this word to mean "everything is fine", as in the Okinawan phrase "nankuru naisa". (That's our impression after hearing the word locally and trying it out.) We like the image of the word and its slightly relaxed and gentle sound. When we came up with the idea of cooking and selling food using our own recipes, we wanted to use this phrase in the name of our company.
